Arabella Kennard

My role involves developing and securing new partnership work and community energy projects, focusing on supporting the needs of our members as well as satisfying CES’ charitable aims.

Community energy projects play an essential role in our green recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. I look forward to working with community organisations on their COVID-19 recovery plans, to highlight and advise on local energy solutions and opportunities, which will also benefit the wider renewable energy sector.

With experience of working on a range of low-carbon energy projects, with community at the core, I understand and support the diverse needs of community organisations in making progress towards net zero. In the past this has included working on smart local energy systems, community transport and domestic energy efficiency projects, while leading on the community engagement and consultation elements.

It is important to consider things from different perspectives, particularly when working with a diverse range of organisations, groups and individuals. At CES, I am grateful we all share this approach and I believe we are all proactive in ensuring solutions are bespoke and inclusive to meet individual needs.

I enjoy getting outside and being active as much as possible (and where the Orkney weather allows!) I’m a keen traveller and love discovering new places and cultures both near and far.

I’ve scored a goal for Scotland during an international game – but I won’t tell you the sport!
