Community Support

Are you interested in developing a renewable energy project to benefit your community but don’t know where to start, or are you struggling to find the time to move a project forward? We offer a unified project management service to community groups in this position. Our staff have a specialised understanding of the challenges facing voluntary community groups and how to overcome them from working with hundreds of similar groups on many different projects. We can offer support on:

  • funding sources and applications
  • feasibility assessments and project management
  • planning and regulatory requirements
  • the grid connection process, FITs, ROCs and RHI
  • securing advice on State Aid, procurement and financial issues
  • community consultation and good governance

We don’t just provide consultancy advice - we work in a way designed to increase the knowledge and capacity of our client groups.

We also have a wide range of contacts and if we don’t know the answer we’ll know someone who does. We aim to cover the cost of this service through fees payable from grant or CARES loans secured by project groups.
